Ruslaan Mumtaz is in relationship with wealth manager Nirali Mehta!

Here’ coming a mini heart attack for all female fans of film and TV actor Ruslaan Mumtaz, currently seen inSony TV’s Je Lee Zara. Buzz has that the actor is all engaged and hooked. He is in a very serious relationship with his girlfriend Nirali Mehta, who works as a wealth manager in a firm.

The much in love couple often met on the sets of Ruslaan’s show that lead off their marriage rumors. Yes, if telly grapevine is to be believed, the love birds may consider tying the nuptial knot next year.

The actor, who made his Bollywood debut with Mera Pehela Pehela Pyar (MP3), says this is too early to say anything about marriage. “Yes, Nirali is my girlfriend and I'm very serious about our relationship. Having said that right now I am too busy with Jee Le Zara and the movie I am shooting. So, I really haven't got the time to think about my personal life. I hardly get to meet her often, that busy is my schedule. I get to meet her once in 15 days. One thing is for sure, whenever I would get married, I will be marrying a Gujarati girl,” averred Ruslaan, who is getting popular with his current TV show.

Ruslaan plays Dhruv who falls in love with much older-to-his-age girl Sanchi, played by Sangeeta Gosh in the TV show.
We bless the couple and hope they tie the knot soon!

TV stars visit Lucknow by Akash Wadhwa, TNN Dec 12, 2013

It was quite an entertaining Sunday for Lucknowites as they got a chance to meet not one or two but five television personalities in a day. The event that was organized at a private college in Indira Nagar, saw popular TV actors Ronit Roy, Sangeeta Ghosh, Ruslaan Mumtaz, comedian Siddharth Sagar and Indian Idol Junior participant Sonkashi Kar in attendance. Though the event started more than an hour and a half late, everyone waited eagerly for their favourite stars to come.

Meanwhile, the anchor kept everyone busy asking various questions related to the actors' serials and to his surprise, the die-hard fans knew the smallest details of their fav actor's show.
Ronit Roy ko gussa kyun aata hai? Ronit Roy was in a visibly foul mood that day. Apparently, he was miffed with the organisers. Reason? Well, the promotional posters of the event didn't have his picture. "Where is my picture? Why am I not there with the other actors," questioned an angry Ronit, not making any bones about why he was upset. Even his fans were a little wary of approaching him for pictures and autographs, given his mood. When someone asked him straight-up what was the matter, he said, "I have eaten a lot in the afternoon, and so I am feeling uneasy." Food for thought, eh?
My biggest fan is from lucknow: Ruslaan Mumtaz Ruslaan Mumtaz, the latest heartthrob on Indian TV, says his biggest female fan is from Lucknow. "She has been in love with me from the time I came in a music video (a remix version of Aap Jaisa Koi by Pamela Jain), which was some 10 years back. She always keeps in touch with me on Facebook," shared Ruslaan adding that he was going to meet her after the event got over. Sangeeta Ghosh, on the other hand, spent a good part of her day in Lucknow shopping for chikan stuff.

Wedding bells for Ruslaan Mumtaz ?

The chocolate boy who has been the heartthrob of many girls, at a relatively young age plans to tie the knot.
The actor who is seen in films like ‘MP3 – Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar’, ‘Teree Sang’, ‘Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai’, ‘Dangerous Ishhq’ and ‘I Don’t Luv U’ and is presently on television with his show ‘Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara’ is a heartthrob of female fans for obvious reasons. However, the actor seems to be a fan of this special female in his life who he has been seeing for a while now.

Sources reveal that her name is Nirali Mehta, who works as a wealth manager in a firm and apparently Ruslaan is quite serious about her but has been keeping it under wraps. “He is dating Nirali for a few years now, but fears that they may not catch the evil eye, so he doesn’t want to talk about it,” adds the source. If all goes well, Ruslaan may tie the knot soon, but he is not willing to comment on anything just yet. We hear he has been telling his friends when the time is right he will take the plunge and that maybe sooner than later!

Did you know that actor Ruslaan Mumtaz made his debut with a music video?

The very good looking Ruslaan Mumtaz who is currently winning hearts with his act in Kehta Hai Dil…Jee Le Zara on Sony TV before venturing into films did a music video.
The remix Aap Jaisa Koi Mere Zindagi … was sung by Pamela Jain.
The song had his three neighbours prying on him through a telescope as he carried on his towel antics.
Seems the guy already knew the trick to win some popularity!

What has age got to do with love:

Tanvi Trivedi, TNN Nov 26, 2013, 12.00AM IST

Telly show Jee Le Zara, which explores the relationship between an older woman and a younger man, has good chemistry between its lead actors Sangeeta Ghosh and Ruslaan Mumtaz. And, true to their characters, both the actors believe that age has got nothing to do with love.

Says Sangeeta, who plays Saanchi in the show, "We wanted to showcase a romance, which is similar to any man and woman falling in love, regardless of their age difference. In today's times, a woman doesn't have to show restraint when a younger guy falls in love with her. Ruslaan and I bond like all co-actors do on the set. We have not made any extra effort to be friends."
Ruslaan, who plays Dhruv Goel, on the other hand, enjoys the fact that he is part of an unusual love story. He says, "When it comes to love, age is never a factor. Sangeeta is a talented actor, so we learn a lot from her. Also, we are quite similar, so I understand what she wants from a particular scene. Our friendship did not happen overnight. It was a natural process, getting to know each other like all colleagues do."
As Sangeeta adds, "Saanchi is around 35 years old, while Ruslaan is 27. Saanchi is unmarried because she has not found the right person, but she is not depressed or unhappy. So, when she finds a guy who loves her dearly, why should she shy away from expressing it?"
The next fortnight will focus on how Saanchi's family and the society refuse to accept the relationship because of their age difference. However, Dhruv stands up for Saanchi and explains how people should not stand in the way of her happiness.

Kehta Hai Dil...Jee Le Zara airs Monday to Thursday at 9.30 pm on Sony EntertainmentTelevision.

Ruslaan’s an idiot

by Kshama Rao:

Success can really turn things around.
Ask Ruslaan Mumtaaz whose first tryst with films didn’t do much for his career until recently, when television resurrected his career with Jee Le Zara. The show, which has him in a romantic lead, has not only made him a household name but also seems to have given his film career a new lease of life.
Ruslaan has bagged a lead role in a romcom called Romeo Idiot Jattani Juliet. And while the channel has you believe that he’s got the role after he did the show, Ruslaan says, “ I had already signed and shot for the film before I took up Jee Le Zara. I couldn’t complete it because I took up the show so now I’ll have to shoot both the film and the show.” So have the makers changed his role, courtesy his new- found popularity? “ No, but considering my romantic image, now they have added two new songs to it!” he says. The film about a Mumbai boy who falls in love with a Haryanvi girl, stars a new girl, Rashmi Singh and Sharat Saxena as the girl’s father. “ It’s directed by Ajay Logan who assisted Satish Kaushik on Tere Sang in which I starred,” says Ruslaan, whose on- screen character DV is nursing a broken heart what with Saanchi’s family against their older- girl- youngerboy relationship.

Ruslaan to bare abs on telly

Actor Ruslaan Mumtaz is ready to pull of his shirt and flaunt his six-pack on the small screen. He is likely to be seen in a bare torso sequence in the romantic soap "Kehta hai Dil?Jee Le Zara".

The show is aired on Sony Entertainment Television.

According to a source, Ruslaan has built toned abs following a strict body-building regime, and now it's time for him to showcase the same.

The scene will be shot in few days, said the source.

The shot will also involve actress Sangeeta Ghosh, who plays Saanchi, his love interest in the show.

The scene will bring Saanchi face-to-face with Ruslaan's character Dhruv after he steps out from the bathroom. It is an awkward and embarrassing moment for them.

Ruslaan has earlier featured in films like "MP3 - Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar", "Teree Sang", "Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai" and "I Don't Luv U".

Ruslaan Mumtaz is suffering from a migraine attack.

Ruslaan Mumtaz is having a tough time shooting for his soap Jee Le Zara.

The actor’s migrane problem has gotten worse over the last few months due to the hectic shoot schedule. Says Ruslaan, “I can’t take medication all the time but I’ve realised eating food at regular intervals helps to some extent.” Due to the long shooting hours, there is not much time for working out, so Ruslaan also has to watch what he is eating. These occupational hazards, we tell you.

Sangeeta Ghosh and Ruslaan Mumtaz

This festive season everyone is gearing to start anew and our favourite stars are not far behind

The Kehta Hai Dil… Jee Le Zara actors Sangeeta Ghosh and Ruslaan Mumtaz talk about their plans for Diwali this year.
Sangeeta says, “Diwali is never the same if not celebrated with your family. It is that time when my entire family gets together first for the Dhanteras puja and then for the main Diwali puja. We have a family dinner where we get together to burst crackers and gorge on sweets.” Well as long as you keep a check on those calories.
Ruslaan on the other hand spent most of his childhood bursting crackers and having fun, but looks like the ideal of Diwali has changed for the dishy dude. He said, “Since childhood Diwali for me was all about crackers and fireworks but now it’s about spending time with my parents and loved ones. This Diwali is really special to me as I am planning to gift mom something really special.” Awwww… Isn’t that really sweet!

“Australia,New Zealand and Maldives are places on my wishlist!” – Ruslaan Mumtaz

The very good looking, charming and popular Ruslaan Mumtaz, currently playing the role of ‘Dhruv’, in Sony TV’sKehta Hai Dil…Jee Le Zara, shares with TheTellyTimes.com his love for travel!

What does travel mean to you?
For me, traveling is all about getting out of your comfort zone, to experience a place other than where you live. Exploring the place, trying out the different cuisines and meeting new people is all part of the entire package.
What is your fondest memory during your many trips?
My South Africa trip where I got to actually play with lion cubs while on a lion safari! The experience was just awesome which I would have never got anywhere else.
Any place which has left a deep impact on you?
The city of New York, which is always just so lively and never sleeps! On one of my trips to New York, a friend of mine and I just happened to stay out the whole night having fun, and it didn’t even seem like it was late as it just felt like part of a regular day.
Any disappointing experience?
My trip to Dubai a while back. As I just got into a cab on landing, leaving my handbag back at the airport which carried my money, passport etc. So I had to technically spend 10 days in the city without any money!
What do you like to do on vacation?
Explore the place, eat good food, visit the zoo or aquarium there as I love animals and go off to an amusement park if there is one, as I am a huge fan of roller coasters!
Which was your most recent holiday?
That would be to Hong Kong this year only. Where I visited this awesome amusement park called ‘Ocean Park’ which was a fabulous experience!
Which places do you have on your wish list?
Australia,New Zealand and Maldives are places on my wishlist! I would really love to stay in those ‘Ocean rooms’ that Maldives has to offer, one day!
India or going abroad, which do you feel is better?
I prefer going abroad, as the places are less populated which creates more space. All the Indian tourist destinations are crowded and over populated at all times, which I am not to fond off.
Which is an ideal place for a budget friendly vacation according to you?
Thailand is definitely an ideal place for a budget friendly vacation.

I won't mind kissing Sangeeta Ghosh: Ruslaan Mumtaz

Have you ever fallen in love with an older woman?

Not really! Only once when I was in Class X, at a boarding school in Panchgani, I was intrigued by this chemistry teacher called Miss Blossom. She was the only older woman who I found attractive and interesting. However, now when I think of it I feel it was her name which did the trick. However, the good part was that she was also fond of me as I was good in studies.

Are you open to the idea of dating an older woman?
I don't think an older woman would be interested in dating me as I am too immature forwomen of even my own age . So it's going to be very tough for older women to like me.
Tell us about your chemistry with Sangeeta Ghosh.
Fantastic! She is super-talented and gorgeous. And undoubtedly, she gets my attention as well as respect.

Would you be comfortable romancing her on screen?
I am waiting to romance her as the show progresses. In fact, I have kissed all my heroines in allthe movies I have acted in so far. So I wouldn't be uncomfortable doing that with her either. But I don't know how it works on TV.

Did the lack of good film offers make you take up TV?
I want to do quality work. The films that were offered to me were not as good as the TV projects. So I took it up. The team of this show has people who have worked in films too. To refuse such a good team, just because it is TV, didn't make sense. The funniest part is that in the last 20 days, I got four movie offers. When I told them, I am doing this show and would be busy for another six months, they were ready to give me the signing amount and wait for me. So, it's kind of working for me.

Was the film MP3 the best thing that has happened to you?
Obviously, since it was my debut film and it made me what I am today. Even today people talk about my role in MP3.

We don't get to see your mother, Anjana Mumtaz, on screen anymore...
She has retired and doesn't want to take up any work. Often she is offered films and TV projects, which she even agrees to, but backs off at the last moment. So I deciphered that she doesn't want to really work, but party. Earlier, when I was in college, I used to have late nights and they used to wait for me. Now, I am home early, waiting for them while they are party.

We heard you lost out on Slumdog Millionare because of your good looks...
I don't consider myself a talented actor. So whatever I am today is because of my looks. I think I just got lucky.

You also like cooking. Isn't it?

Yes, I can cook chicken and keema. This Eid, I made Sheer Korma. Before Jee Le Zara was locked, I was the official cook of the house for six months. My parents would go out parting and would call me to tell what to cook.

Small screen’s big break Oct 27, 2013 - Natasha Coutinho |

After dabbling with films for a while, television’s new poster boy Ruslaan Mumtaz is happy to have made it big on the small screen. Portraying the guy-next-door character of Dhruv in Jee Le Zara, Ruslaan admits that he is going through a great phase.
After Jee Le Zara, I got at least eight to nine film offers. All this while when I was available and looking for work in films, filmmakers didn’t approach me. And now that I am busy with a gruelling television schedule, people are offering me absurd amounts of money to do their films,” says a Ruslaan with a wicked smile adding, “I owe a lot to this show. People have finally begun to recognise my talent, thanks to the role of Dhruv.” But that mean the film offers will lure him towards the big screen once again? “Certainly not. It is because of this show that I am back in the limelight. I will be loyal towards it. I want to be part of it for as long as it is on air,” he adds.
Quite naturally then, Ruslaan is in a celebratory mood. The actor celebrated his success by gifting his mother a car. He says, “My mum would always tell me that actor Jackie Shroff would send a Pagero for his mother to travel to his film sets. I knew that mum wanted an SUV and hence, bought her a mini-SUV with my first paycheck. It will take me a while to buy her a proper SUV. But on the upside, this one is perfect to travel around a crowded city like Mumbai.”
We ask the actor what it’s like on the sets of the show. A self-confessed foodie, he tells us that the best part about the show is that the cast and crew is as passionate about food as he is. “As soon as we reach the sets, we exchange pleasantries and come straight to the point — what’s in your dabba? Delnaaz’s (Irani) dabba is usually filled with the tastiest Parsi meals. Sangeeta (Ghosh) brings Bengali food and my dabba usually has Mughlai food. Our lunch break is not the hurried types like they have usually have on the sets. In fact, it’s no less than a party,” he says adding that he has gained the title of Buddha on the sets thanks to his eating habits. “I react calmly even during tough situations and don’t get agitated very easily. The secret to that is a full stomach. I am a different person when I am hungry,” he adds with a smile.
Are reality shows something he’d consider being part of? “Sure! I’d love to be part of Nach Baliye and Jhalak Dikhlaaja.” So a dance enthusiast. What about shows such as Bigg Boss? “Oh there’s just one hitch — the food. But it’s tough doing reality shows along with a serial. I recently performed at an awards function. I would rehearse from 11 pm to 2 am and be back on the sets at 7 am. I admire people who can do both the things at the same time. I hope I’m not doing a soap when I get offered shows such as Nach or Jhalak in the future,” he says. “With Big Boss the only problem is I can’t stay hungry. I have to eat every two hours. I’m dangerous if I’m not well fed like I said,” he adds.
Revealing a bit about his family the actor tells us, “Now I don’t get to spend much time with my parents. I’m the only child and we are a close-knit family. Earlier we would try to eat our meals together, but that isn’t possible now.”
We prod him about his relationship status. The actor says he’s single but he has some relationship advice for his fans that he’s learnt through his past relationships. “For girls, please be with a guy who respects you. Nothing is more important than that. For guys, be honest with your girl. If you have to fake it and change yourself for her to love you, trust me, that relationship is not worth having.”

am in awe of Sangeeta Ghosh just like my character: Ruslaan

Ruslaan Mumtaz the male lead of Sony Entertainment Television's younger man - older woman affair show Kehta Hai Dil... Jee Le Zara would not want to get into a relationship with a lady elder to him in his personal life.
"I don't think any older woman will fall for me. Even girls of my age find me immature and I would have to really work very hard to convince them, (as my character does in the show) something that I don't want to do in real life."

This single guy who first began his acting career with films (MP3 - Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar) then goes on to list the top three attributes which make a relationship tick according to him. "Firstly I think there needs to be mutual respect, the ability to make the other laugh, and last but not the least a good physical chemistry."
Though it is said that the first impression is the last impression, he still feels that for a lasting relationship, looks would still be at number three.

When asked about his on/off- screen chemistry with Jee Le Zara co-star Sangeeta Ghosh, Ruslaan says, "I am in awe of her as my character is. She has achieved so much in life, yet is full of energy and excitement. I need to kill my lazy part of me to match up to her."
Ruslaan does not feel that it is no more necessary for him to flirt with his co-star to get the required chemistry on screen. "I have grown as an actor over the years and can now get any chemistry without getting to really know my co-star. I will never flirt with Sangeeta."

Ruslaan Mumtaz: I don’t take my success or failure too seriously!

Thu, October 10, 2013 12:00pm UTC by 1 Comment

It’s a big move for film stars to feature in daily soaps and the actor does it with no qualms whatsoever….

At 30 Ruslaan Mumtaz decided to take on the biggest challenge of his life by working in television. Now that’s a daring step, we think, but the actor says that it’s just like an acting workshop for him. He claims he doesn’t know how to behave around his seasoned co-star Sangeeta Ghosh, but guarantees that with time, he will ease into it. Ruslaan talks about his new show Kehta Hai Dil… Jee Le Zara, his inhibitions about doing television, his biggest asset and his take on marriage….
Why did you choose this role?
When I got a call from Rose Productions, they told me the serial would be directed by Sidharth Sen Gupta and written by Niranjan and Umer and feature Sangeeta Ghosh as the lead opposite me – I just couldn’t not take it. I did question myself if I wanted to do TV or not, but the role was too good to ignore or refuse.
Was it a conscious decision to do a daily soap?
Frankly, I never planned my career like that. I had never planned to be an actor in the movies. I was a theatre artiste and I modelled in ads. Then a film came my way and I took it up. So every step has been a natural progression for me.
At this point in your career, are you happy with everything you decided to do?
I have never really analysed my career. Ideally, my journey is still on; until I reach my destination, I cannot retrospect. And I know my destination is very far off, so when the time comes I’ll sit and think about these things. Until then I’m still walking.
What was the first thing that pulled you in to Kehta Hai Dil … Jee Le Zara?
The first thing was Sangeeta Ghosh, obviously. I have worked with newbie actors all throughout my career; this was like a golden opportunity to learn something from a seasoned actor like Sangeeta. She is critically acclaimed, successful on TV and I thought there’s no one better I could enter TV with. This is like an acting workshop for me.
How different do you find TV from movies?
You don’t get time here. You are given a script, your make-up is completed and someone informs you that your shot is ready. In the past, I would get my script at least two months in advance. I would read it a dozen times, do workshops with the director and co-stars and then come to the sets for the shoot. By now I’d know everyone’s dialogues. Now just to learn my dialogues itself is a monumental task. Now when the director says ‘action’, I get nervous and forget my lines. But luckily they are all very patient with me, since I am the newcomer.
Is there pressure to perform well?
I believe that the pressure makes it difficult, but not impossible. I have worked with fresh faces in films, so no one has ever compared my work with anyone, but here working with Sangeeta and her level of experience is tough. I have to keep up with her level if I want to be appreciated.
What according to you is your biggest asset?
My biggest asset would be that I do not take my success or failure too seriously and I look at my career as a journey. I never see anything as an end. If tomorrow my show is super successful, it’s not the end for me – it goes on.
Do you watch daily soaps?
Yes, I watch .Bade Acche Lagte Hain I really like Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar – their acting style is very realistic.
How did you prepare yourself to play Dhruv?
As every character is different, I’ve had to prepare my own role. If I copy someone, it would look bad. So I’ve kept it original.
Who is Dhruv, according to you?
Dhurv is a 27-year-old lawyer. He hails from an influential and rich family. He has enjoyed life, and is spoiled, in a way. He’s over confident, outgoing, sociable, and communicative and an absolute contrast to Saanchi.
Were there any reservations in romancing an actor much older and more experienced?
Initially, yes! I can’t be very pally with Sangeeta. Normally when the director says pack up, we all hug each other and say good bye, but with Sangeeta I didn’t know if I should shake her hand or put my arm around her. There’s a difference in being a friend and a co-actor, and it is easier to be a friend when you are of the same age group. But here things were different. You don’t know how comfortable you should get or can get. She has broken the ice, but I took time to be at ease.
How do you manage shooting for films and your TV show?
I will take time out to do my movies, to finish all my incomplete work as and when needed. My production house is very supportive that way.
Where would you like to keep yourself busy – in films or television?
Actually, I want to keep myself busy in front of the camera, whether that’s television or films. Honestly speaking, an actor can keep himself busy doing theatre also, but it’s tough. This is much easier.
Where do you get creative satisfaction?
I believe that’s in theatre. When you’re on the stage, no one can help you. Whatever has to be done, the actor has to be ready for it. Here if you make mistakes or forget, there is an option for a retake. Theatre doesn’t give you that. That ego boost for an actor can only happen on a stage.
Are you open to doing reality shows?
Yes, definitely! I would love to do a reality show – I watch a lot of them, like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa andNach Baliye.
What have you learned from your mother?
I’ve learnt from my mother that successes and failures are not be taken too seriously. They come and they go. And never think that the love that audiences shower on you can ever replace your family’s love. So in a way, I give more importance to my personal life. My personal life, my family, is more important than my work.
Do you plan to get married any time soon?
I’ve fallen in love many times, but the shaadiwala love that converts to wedding love has not happened yet. Right now, I do everything for my parents and myself. And I’m not mentally prepared to devote time to anyone else at this point of my life. If I find a girlfriend, my personal life would become more important than my work. I’ve been taught that when you get married you should not treat that person as secondary. Respect is very important. Right now I can either respect my work or my girlfriend. For me to balance this is difficult right now. Once I am settled in my work, then I can think about these things.
If you’re asked to do a leap, play an older version of you, would you take that up?
I think I wouldn’t be able to do something like that now. Mainly ‘coz there is a certain kind of image in the industry that I cannot deny, so I’ll stay away from things like these.
