Ruslaan dating Salma Agha's daughter

By: Tushar Joshi

Ruslaan Mumtaz is dating Zarah, the daughter of Salma Agha, his mother's good friend

Ruslaan Mumtaz is dating Salma Agha's daughter Zarah. They met six months ago at a common friend's party and took an instant liking to each other. Sources reveal that they are quite serious about each other.

A source close to Ruslaan reveals, "They met each other through their moms. Ruslaan's mom Anjana Mumtaz and Salma Agha are friends.

Zahra and Ruslaan Mumtaz

Since Zarah has always live in Dubai, she didn't have any friends in Mumbai, and Ruslaan was the first friend she made in the city.

He then introduced her to his own friend circle. Ever since they've been hanging out together."

Family friends

Ruslaan hesitantly says, "We are family friends. I know Zarah because of my mom. Her mom and mine are good friends. We were introduced and became friends."

The couple has been spotted together at various coffee shops and even attended award functions hand in hand.

Reacting to being seen together he adds, "Zarah didn't have friends as she came from Dubai. I was the only friend; also we both get invited for the same functions, so it makes more sense to travel together than go separately."

When asked if Agha aspires to be an actor like him, Ruslaan adds, "Yes she definitely wants to act. At the moment, she's waiting to get a good project to make her debut with.

I think she will do really well." In the past, Ruslaan was linked with actress Niharika Singh.

Fingertip Facts - June 10, 2010 by FSJ

When Salman Khan refused adman-turned-debutant director Abhishek Dogra’s film 3 Nights 4 Days In Bihar, saying he’s old for the role, it turned out to be a gift for Ruslaan Mumtaz. Abhishek went to Ruslaan for the role, and the young actor happily stepped into Salman’s place. At year-end Ruslaan will have another release, Mastang Mama a comedy film with Tanay Cheda.

In Ruslaan’s living room a huge framed photo of the young star has a prominent place and, “There’s a story behind it. This was the picture shown in Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai. At the end of the shooting it was going to be thrown out and my driver told me that. So I spoke to the guys on the sets. Ultimately, this pic came home in my car and I came back in a rickshaw!”

Ruslaan loves stray animals. He once brought a cat home who lived with them for 14 years. Now he has a beautiful mixed breed stray called Jimmy. “I call him the Indian Shepherd, like the German Shepherd,” says Ruslaan, patting his pet affectionately.

The story of three spoilt rich wayward dudes blundering through Bihar in a nightmarish vacation is described by Salman’s replacement Ruslaan as “ a Dil Chahta Hai meets Rang De Basanti in Bihar…yes, we’re going to shoot the film completely on location in Bihar.” Regarding Ruslaan replacing Salmaan the younger actor says, “After Salmanbhai suggested that he take a younger actor for his role the young director Abhishek Dogra changed the script.”

Earlier, he had planned to sign Salman and two other actors from that generation. Now it’s 3 young actors Sharman, Jackky and Ruslaan.

“I’ve always modelled my physique on Salman, so it feels good,” says Ruslaan.

Indian Poetry League_27th May,2010

On Thursday evening, Pritish Nandy managed to do what Chetan Bhagat could only term as the ‘IPL of poetry’! The multi-talented Pritish got eminent personalities like Gulzar, Shashi Tharoor, Anupam Kher, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Chetan himself to be present for his literary do. But that was the only joke cracked on IPL, what with Tharoor being present!

Aishwarya, looking pretty as a picture in a simple beige dress, said that she’s no orator but was glad to be introduced to Pritish’s works. She then read out a few lines from his book.
Anupam recalled the time when he had first met Pritish in 1983. “By the end of the evening, Pritish told me ‘You’re a nice guy, I don’t like you!” He added
that there’s a hidden actor in Pritish just as there’s a hidden poet in him.
Shashi joked that years back, young college girls wrote verses in the hope of becoming a poet like Pritish.
When the emcee started to introduce Ash as ‘the most beautiful face of India’, Anupam pointed at himself which made Ash and others burst into laughter.
Seen in the audience were Anil Dharker, Meghna Gulzar and Ruslaan Mumtaz.
AGGRESSIVE HUMOUR!
Praising Pritish, Gulzar remarked that he found his poetry progressive and full of aggression. “But then aggression is something all Bengalis have, who can say that better than me!” he laughed, obviously reffering to wife Rakhee. The audience dissolved into peals of laughter.
