Fingertip Facts - June 10, 2010 by FSJ

When Salman Khan refused adman-turned-debutant director Abhishek Dogra’s film 3 Nights 4 Days In Bihar, saying he’s old for the role, it turned out to be a gift for Ruslaan Mumtaz. Abhishek went to Ruslaan for the role, and the young actor happily stepped into Salman’s place. At year-end Ruslaan will have another release, Mastang Mama a comedy film with Tanay Cheda.
In Ruslaan’s living room a huge framed photo of the young star has a prominent place and, “There’s a story behind it. This was the picture shown in Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai. At the end of the shooting it was going to be thrown out and my driver told me that. So I spoke to the guys on the sets. Ultimately, this pic came home in my car and I came back in a rickshaw!”
Ruslaan loves stray animals. He once brought a cat home who lived with them for 14 years. Now he has a beautiful mixed breed stray called Jimmy. “I call him the Indian Shepherd, like the German Shepherd,” says Ruslaan, patting his pet affectionately.

Sharman, Jackky, Ruslaan Mumtaz and 3 Days 4 Nights In Bihar
What Salman Khan couldn’t do, that is shoot his home production Dabangg on location in Bihar, his replacement Ruslaan Mumtaz is all set to do.New director, Abhishek Dogra, who has finalized Ruslaan Mumtaz to play the role that was initially offered to Salman Khan, is all set to shoot his film entitled 3 Days 4 Nights In Bihar on location in Bihar.
The story of three spoilt rich wayward dudes blundering through Bihar in a nightmarish vacation is described by Salman’s replacement Ruslaan as “ a Dil Chahta Hai meets Rang De Basanti in Bihar…yes, we’re going to shoot the film completely on location in Bihar.” Regarding Ruslaan replacing Salmaan the younger actor says, “After Salmanbhai suggested that he take a younger actor for his role the young director Abhishek Dogra changed the script.”
Earlier, he had planned to sign Salman and two other actors from that generation. Now it’s 3 young actors Sharman, Jackky and Ruslaan.
“I’ve always modelled my physique on Salman, so it feels good,” says Ruslaan.

Indian Poetry League_27th May,2010
On Thursday evening, Pritish Nandy managed to do what Chetan Bhagat could only term as the ‘IPL of poetry’! The multi-talented Pritish got eminent personalities like Gulzar, Shashi Tharoor, Anupam Kher, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Chetan himself to be present for his literary do. But that was the only joke cracked on IPL, what with Tharoor being present!
Aishwarya, looking pretty as a picture in a simple beige dress, said that she’s no orator but was glad to be introduced to Pritish’s works. She then read out a few lines from his book.Anupam recalled the time when he had first met Pritish in 1983. “By the end of the evening, Pritish told me ‘You’re a nice guy, I don’t like you!” He addedthat there’s a hidden actor in Pritish just as there’s a hidden poet in him.
When the emcee started to introduce Ash as ‘the most beautiful face of India’, Anupam pointed at himself which made Ash and others burst into laughter.
AGGRESSIVE HUMOUR!
Praising Pritish, Gulzar remarked that he found his poetry progressive and full of aggression. “But then aggression is something all Bengalis have, who can say that better than me!” he laughed, obviously reffering to wife Rakhee. The audience dissolved into peals of laughter.
