Ruslaan Mumtaz now trying his luck on small screen!

Ruslaan Mumtaz now trying his luck on small screen!

If films fail to give the desired success, one always has the alternative of trying his or her luck out on the small screen. After all, the chota parda is no more a small entity.

Following the same is Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar (MP3) fame actor Ruslaan Mumtaz, who has absolutely no qualms in admitting that he has indeed proved to be a flop actor. He says, “None of my films including MP3 - Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar, Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai etc have worked”.

Buzz states that he will soon be seen in Trilogy Krikos’ telefilm for Star Plus. Talking about that, he said, “This film, made under the series of Teri Meri Love Stories, has been tentatively scheduled for a September airing. It also supposedly stars Aditi Sharma”.

Adding more, Ruslaan said, “It is set in a banking housing colony that has a mix of Gujarati and Maharashtrian community members who live in constant competition and rivalry. My character and that of my co-star’s character fall in love. How we try to make our respective parents accept each other forms the crux of this light hearted love story.”

When quizzed if this will completely call for his shift to TV, Ruslaan asserted, “No this project is only a one-off. I had time to do it and so did it. Anyway, I prefer cinema because the entire process of going through your script and working on your character, to the final promotion is very enjoyable. You lose all of that in TV, which is more of daily routine.”

We respect your choice Ruslaan and wish you good luck with your Bollywood career!

Actor Ruslaan Mumtaz who made his debut with the recently released Mera Pehla Pehla Pyar seems to have all that it takes to make the ladies go weak in the knees. If reports are to be believed, Ruslaan charmed the leading lady of his upcoming film 'Tere Sang' so much that the teenager in question, newcomer Sheena Shahbadi got completely crazy about him. When the unit of this Satish Kaushik film was out for a long outdoor schedule in the northern part of the country recently, young Sheena tried her best to steal as much time as possible with Ruslaan. Interestingly like Ruslaan who is a star son (his mom is actress Anjana Mumtaz), Sheena too comes from a Bollywood home. Her mother is yesteryears' actress Sadhana Singh who became nothing short of a sensation with the Rajshri hit Nadiya Ke Paar.
Sheena whose identity the producers are protecting fiercely, was roped in, when the original choice Yamini Sharma (who Satish Kaushik had considered after seeing her photo in a newspaper), was dropped once she was found unsuitable for the role. "Sheena is a young girl and it's not uncommon for a girl of her age to have a crush on a good looking guy. Ruslaan obviously enjoyed all the attention. They ate together, had loads of fun and whenever possible spent time with each other in their rooms. But she tried to keep this fondness a secret, probably because her mother was mostly around. On the last day of the shoot in Dalhousie, they got lost together in the wilderness and we had to keep waiting for them to can a few shots. That day Satishji also got very irritated", says a close source from the unit.It didn't end there. Sheena also got terribly jealous of Hazel, Ruslaan's first heroine and co-star from MP3. Adds the source, "While we were shooting near the Qutub Minar, Hazel had come to our sets twice to meet Ruslaan. Sheena didn't speak to her properly and kept ignoring her. It came to such a point later that she refused to even hear her name".Ruslaan Mumtaz was unavailable for comment. But after hearing about his charms working so much on a young girl, we can only imply that Bollywood has found yet another pin up boy. By the way, as long as the crush is harmless, no one is complaining!

(Ruslaan Mumtaz )
Ruslaan Mumtaz is one of those from Bollywood who headed to the London 2012 Olympics, but the actor ended up not attending the one match that he was really looking forward to — the women's boxing finale.
Apparently, he was hoping to catch Indian boxing champ Mary Kom fight it out in the finals, but when she couldn't make it to the ultimate round, he decided to skip the match. Instead, he caught a game of his favourite sport — basketball!
Says Ruslaan, "It would have been a treat to watch her in the finals. Since that didn't happen, a friend and I caught a basketball match." He then spent 12 days in the UK before heading back.

Ruslaan impersonator fools a girl

PARAG MANIAR, TNN Jul 30, 2012, 12.01PM IST

It was a call that shocked Ruslaan Mumtaz. A young girl from Kolkatta told him that how she had practically agreed to marry a man thinking he was Ruslaan.
Apparently this guy impersonated as Ruslaan on a social networking site and got talking to this girl. Over a period of time she got close to him and asked her to come down to Chennai promising marriage to her. He said that he had given up films and moved to Chennai for good. The girl's joys knew no bounds and was on the brink flying down to Chennai till she watched Ruslaan on a channel attending an award function held abraod recently. She somehow got hold of Ruslaan's number and called him.
Confirming the incident Ruslaan said, "She cried her heart out, while I stood shocked. "Had i not to watch the award function I would never have known that I was talking to an imposter" she said. I told her that I was very much in the film industry and moving to Chennai out of question. I just want girls not get fooled like this and use thier discretion before striking a conversation with someone."

Ruslaan Mumtaz air-dashed to Singapore recently. Talking about his trip Ruslaan said, "It was a holiday that I was looking forward to. I had a ball of a time with my friends. I particularly enjoyed walking down the Orchard Street. That is where I shopped and bought loads of jeans and shoes. I also visited the Sentosa island. It was a treat."

Ruslaan is a travel freak and loves to explore different places in the world. "I remember flying down to Africa to shoot an ad. It was a four day schedule. But after shooting it I stayed back for fifteen days to explore South Africa. It was a great feeling to know about the food culture and the people."

Ruslaan also enjoyed eating to his hearts content. "I am a fitness freak and follow a strict diet. But that one week I just gorged on some of the most delicious Singapore food,," he said.

Back home the actor has hit the gym. "I enjoyed my vacation. But back home I have cut down on food. Need to get back in shape," he laughed.
