Ruslaan Mumtaz informs I Kaur that the shift from the silver to the small screen is helping him learn the nuances of acting
When a famous television artiste came to Ruslaan Mumtaz’ house his family’s reaction shocked him. The struggling actor, who was seen in I Don’t Luv U, then decided to make a shift from the silver to the small screen to get popularity. He plays the lead in Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara (KHDJLZ).
Ruslaan said that in the past he was offered many TV roles but he was not keen on working for the small screen. “But I loved the concept of this show — a young boy falling for an older woman. After reading the script I asked the producers who is the older woman and they said Sangeeta Ghosh, and I knew it’s going to be a great experience,” he shared.
KHDJLZ reflects the modern-day culture. Ruslaan feels that this is the reason he connects to the serial. “While shifting to the small screen I wanted something worth it,” he said.
Ruslaan was a reserved person before he started doing this show. He insists now he is outspoken and confident, thanks to the character he is playing.
“TV is way tougher than films. There are deadlines to meet and sometimes we shoot entire night because there is a telecast next evening. I have also shot for 20 hours. But all said and done I took up TV as a training ground to improve on my acting skills,” he said.
