Review of Kehta Hai Dil…Jee Le Zara

kehta+hai+jee+le+zaraSony TV’s new entry on the block, Kehta Hai Dil…Jee Le Zara, starring the very pretty Sangeeta Ghosh and extremely good looking Ruslaan Mumtaaz, seems to be promising, but how long will this sweet romance last?

The show has been termed a ‘Bold’ one as it is based on the older woman-younger man romance cum marriage. Another show, Astitva – Ek Prem Kahani which aired on Zee TV years ago, had already gone through with this concept of the older woman-younger man love affair, which was played by the very talented Niki Aneja and Varun Badola, whose age gap difference was definitely a decade. It was termed as one of the ‘Boldest’ shows in television history as it covered the problems faced due to the vast age gap in a relationship.

Jee Le Zara is clearly not going down that road as the age gap here isn’t too vast between the two, as a 27 year old boy and 34 year old girl getting caught in the romantic front isn’t too bad right ? A 7 year age difference definitely isn’t a decade!

The show which premiered on 15th August opened up at Panchgani, a beautiful hill station where Saanchi (Sangeeta Ghosh) lives with her 2 grandmothers, Aaji (Sulabha Deshpande) and Naani (Meenakshi Sethi), 2 younger siblings Advait and Prachi and her best friend Dilshaad (Delnaaz Irani) and has a strawberry farm of her own.  Saanchi is a beautiful, independent and hardworking women who is at all times concerned about her family and refuses marriage offers that come her way (and hence we know that Dhruv (Ruslaan Mumtaaz) would surely have some space in her life), as shown in the very 1st episode.

Sangeeta Ghosh has done justice to the character of Saanchi very well, and has definitely bounced back! Delnaaz Irani playing the sweet and bubbly character Dilshaad, Saanchi’s best friend, has done a great job on that front and ensures a fun and promising character.

Coming to Ruslaan Mumtaaz, who has bounced from Films to TV, definitely seems promising in this new avatar of his. He plays the role of Dhruv,a young, good looking, wealthy lawyer who knows how to enjoy every moment of life well. His character has already caught up with some good responses and we hope, this goes a long way.

The show is still going on to establish and settle down its characters well and hence it is a bit too early to state how they would fair in the future, but the lovely locations of the swanky houses, strawberry fields and breath taking scenery are really feel good images and definitely want to make you watch the show some more.

The concept of how they are going to take this forward is not too clear as this topic has already been covered before,  but all in all, it is a fresh story, has some good looking faces and if they decide to stick to a simple hearted story line, it can definitely work wonders for them!
