I Don't Luv U releases today and other than the controversy surrounding its song 'Ishk Ki M@@ Ki', the film is also in news due to its core subject of a leaked MMS scandal. Since the film also has some similarities with lead actor Ruslaan Mumtaz's real life (he was accused by an actress to have leaked a morphed MMS featuring her), there were good reasons for the actor to feel a bit peeved when the offer came first to him.
"Yes, when I heard the story, my initial reaction was that I felt a little insulted. I didn't like the fact that someone was offering me a MMS scandal based story," says Ruslaan, "However the director told me that I really fitted in the role. He was sure that if I listened to the entire script, I would really love it. This indeed turned out to be true since I really thought that this character was quite good. I decided to do the film even though I have been linked to a MMS before."
When quizzed more about his characterisation in the film, Ruslaan promises that the part that he plays in the film would be loved, especially by the female audience.
"With this film, as an actor I have found my space. I knew at the script level itself that I would be able to do a good job with this film," Ruslaan says with an air of surety around him, "I know that even if the film doesn't work for all people, my character Yuvaan would work for the audience. While guys would realise what can go wrong in certain weak moments, girls for sure would fall in love with Yuvaan."
We would love to see that happen.
